First visit: what we walked into in Nad Al Sheba
The shell was ready and the entrance hall was double height — the kind of space that either lifts a villa or exposes sloppy work. The owner had already chosen the material; our job was to make the veining behave.
The promise we made the owner of this six-bedroom villa
We promised slab-by-slab dry layout and photographs of the proposed veining before a single piece was bonded, and a staircase where the pattern climbs continuously from the first riser to the landing.
The moment the project turned
The turning point was in the stone yard. We rejected two slabs from the batch because the veining broke the sequence, waited eleven days for replacements, and told the owner why. The finished hall is the argument for that delay.
Craftsmanship that made the difference
Book-matched panels were mirrored on the centreline of the feature wall. Stair nosings were solid rather than applied, with a thin brass inlay set flush at each edge. The entire floor was ground, filled and polished in place, so no joint can be felt underfoot.
Handover day in Nad Al Sheba
We sealed the stone, handed over a care sheet listing what must never touch marble, and returned after six weeks for a first maintenance polish.
